This project involves the protection and restoration of three rooms of historic woodwork. The house, an elegant 1930s Georgian Revival is undergoing a significant restoration and upgrade of all services.
Our task was to document, remove and restore the material in all three rooms. Because of the extent of the intrusive mechanical and electrical work, it was decided to remove the woodwork in the rooms for their safety.
The rooms were documented and removed in the Spring of 2012, and in June and July of 2014 were repaired and re-installed. On of the three rooms consisted of a beautifully executed oak paneled living room of immense proportions adorned with what we believe are early 18th century English carvings. Another room is a 17th century English room of oak with numerous raised carving; and the third is an elaborate 18th century English room of pine.
